This meeting was one I prepared a lot for and even secured some donated items for our mini first aid kits. It was a shame we had several girls absent but the girls that were there were very pleased with their work.

My co-leader prepared a special Earth Day craft for the troop. Sun catchers! Lots of fun and the girls enjoyed it. She had cut of pieces of tissue paper and the girls sprinkled them on one side of contact paper then placed another piece of contact paper on top to seal it.
We started the meeting with each girl showing her fuzzy pet that she had taken care of since the last meeting. All but one girl had their fuzzy pets! I was so proud they all remembered to return with them. They earned their Mari petal.
Then we divided into 2 groups. 1 group went with Nanny K to talk about simple first aid and make mini first aid kits. I worked with the other group by making pretend 911 calls with them and making sure they knew their address and phone numbers. About half the girls could tell me without hesitation so I am going to have a do-over with them at our next meeting to be sure they all really know their addresses.
To make the mini first aid kits we started with a snack container I bought at the Dollar Tree. They came 3 to a pack. Then we added a few alcohol prep wipes, 5 band aids, 1 gauze pad, and finally a mini antibac gel from Bath and Body Works. The girls really enjoyed this activity and proudly took their kits home with them!
